Let’s celebrate water & peace around equinox together
Dear friends, we invite you to join us for some days of shared meditation and action, which we will hold around the equinox, between March 17 and 23. If you are close by, come visit us for a regional weekend celebration, March 22 & 23.
Together with the Defend the Sacred Alliance, our co-founder Sabine Lichtenfels started this initiative to focus on peace, prayer, water and community in these times of war, drought and floods. We welcome your presence for a week of celebrating and honoring life as sacred.
Janni Hentrich, March 7 2024
Sabine writes,
We’re deeply shaken by the unbearable suffering in Gaza, Rojava, Ukraine and many other places. Witnessing these events has challenged us not to give up but to stay focused on a vision of peace. War isn’t only happening due to particular local conflicts, it’s a basic pillar of our civilization. We see the need for a comprehensive system change to transform the global matrix of war into a system where “there will be no losers“.
Our compassion goes out to all those who have lost friends and relatives in the ongoing violence. What is currently happening on Earth challenges us to raise our voices loudly and clearly. In this we are not alone — Earth, water, fire, animal and plant kingdoms are calling for awareness and cooperation. There is an emergency call from Earth to us humans to abandon the concept of enmity. Peace is another dimension of existence, its ethics of compassion are an integral part of life’s sacred matrix.
Please read Sabine’s prayer: “Emergency Call of the Earth” and join us around the equinox.
Will you join us? Share what you’re doing!
Please tell us about your action so that we know of and strengthen each other’s connection. All actions planned will be published on here. We look forward to hearing from you.
May our actions in different places give us strength and hope for our vision of a future without war.
Here’s what is planned so far:
“People’s Peace and Water Summit” (March 17-20)
In Rajasthan the “Waterman of India”, Rajendra Singh, invites people get to know remarkable stories and ideas for ecological regeneration from India. The “People’s Peace and Water Summit,” is showcasing the transformative power of water cycle restoration in regions affected by conflict from water scarcity. Read more about Rajendra Singh and the Waterman Academy here.
Synchronized Meditation for a Global Peace Field (March 19/20)
For millennia, cultures have been connecting with the Earth’s vibrations and cosmic healing energies on the equinox. Marko Pogacnik, Rosemarie Kirschmann, Werner Neuner, Shmuel Saul and others will meditate at different places and invite to listen to the voice of life: What can we learn about peace when we perceive Earth’s instructions? Learn more here.
World Water Day (March 22)
Let’s listen to the essence and soul of water. Water embodies a fundamental voice for life and love. Models of water regeneration supported by regional, self-sufficient communities point the way out of drought, desertification and social crises. In Tamera, we will celebrate a regional sneak preview of the upcoming documentary film, “Water is Love: Ripples of Regeneration” (to be released on Earth Day, April 22).
Peace Community Day (March 23)
On this day is the 27th anniversary of the Peace Community San José de Apartadó, long-term partner of ours in Colombia. Although heavily affected by cruel persecutions, they’ve walked a nonviolent path of solidarity and community-building. If we want to leave the old systems of life behind, we need a vision for decentralized communities and self-sufficient regional models as part of a strategy for survival and peace.
